Monday Morning Before School

Aadi got dressed and grabbed his binder and backpack before going to the bus stop.

Julie and Alyss were getting in the backseat of Julie's mom's Yellow 56 Camaro with black racing stripes. They pulled out of Julie's driveway and then headed towards Shakespear Junior High.Julie had on her favorite blue tank top and short sleeved sweater with a skirt and tall socks with boots on. While Alyss had on a black shirt with hot pink hearts on it and a pair of jeans with lime green converse

Anne grabbed everything she needed for the day, and walked to Norah's house, keeping her hood up over her head. She rang the doorbell, and she saw Norah with all her stuff. She pulled her outside without a hello.
"Psycho!" Norah laughed, nudging Anne with her elbow. Anne texted Murdoc as they went to the bus stop.

LordAnnika~ Meet us at the bus stop, or I'll kill you in your sleep.
MaximumMurdoc: Yes, ma'am. Is Norah with you?
LordAnnika: Whatcha think?

They stood at the bus stop, not speaking, next to Aiden.

Anne wore too-big Tripp pants, a "Sailing the Seas of Cheese" sweater, and wore her hair in her face. She stared down at her converse, hoping Norah would be the first to say something. But she didn't.
Norah, on the other hand, wore a white Weezer shirt with a red W in the middle, and she wore a plaid flannel shirt under it. She wore jeans and black boots that were mostly covered by her pants- Her mother had forbidden her to wear black that day. She looked a bit like a lumberjack.

Aadi looked the others over but didn't say anything.
Just the the bus showed but 13. The doors opened and Aadi got on the bus. he sat int he last seat.

Julie and Alyss got out of the car and then headed to the picnik tables outside. Julie listened to her Green Ipod nano and Alyss listened to her yellow one.

"Where's Murdoc?" Norah asked.
"Late. He was always late last year," Anne sighed. As the bus started to go with Anne and Norah in seat 13, Murdoc came running up clumsily on his long, gangly legs. The bus had always started to go, and he chased it, calling after it. Anne sighed.
"Stop, please. It seems that we've left someone," she said. the bus stopped, but Murdoc was finding it hard to, and he hit the emergency exit of the bus. He gathered himself, then went back to the front of the bus, nodding a thank-you to the driver. He sat in seat 14, across from the girls.
"Retard! Stop getting late; we'll not to him to stop next time!" Norah hissed.
"Sorry, sorry," he muttered, shyly looking at the two of them. This year would be the year. He looked in his binder. Every year, he and he friend made lists of things they would do that year, but no one ever shared them with the others but Norah.
His looked like this:
1. Get a girlfriend.
2. Get high at least once.
3.Don't get caught(see number 2)
4. Beat up someone who makes fun of me.
5. Win a sword fight with Anne.

That was only the beginning. It went all the way to 26, in order of importance.
Anne bit her lower lip, making it bleed, and Norah saw.
"OOH! OHH! CAN I KISS IT!?" she asked.
"No," Anne said simply.

"GOT THE CRACK!?" her best friends finished. She laughed. "Heck, yeah! Dude, we neef to go in front of some teacher's and sing Clint Eastwood."
"I have easy admittence to Mary Jayne," Murdoc giggled. "Mariah has some. You know she smoked." Mariah was his oldest sister.
"Wait...seriously!?" Norah asked excitedly.
"Yeah. Of course, I'd have to pay her, and that's such a hassel," he sighed.
"Ugh. Exertion!" Anne sighed. She pulled looked over at her trombone, which was in the same seat as Norah's. She obsessive-compulsively made sure it wasn't falling exactly every 3 minutes.

Aadi laughed a bit as he thought about what they wanted to do. He gathered his backpack and then got off the bus when it stopped. He saw Julie and Alyss.

As soon as Julie saw him she ran at him and glomped him in the grass along with Alyss. "YOU'RE BACK!"they exclaimed. Aadi had been in Montana all summer and he ahd jsut gotten back last night. "We missed you Aadibear"Alyss said as her and Julie got off of hima nd helped him up. Aadi got his stuff and fixed his shirt and pants before fixing his Ipod.

Norah and Anne went to the band hall and put away their trombones, which they had names Bello Sauno and Rolinda, and they returned to the group of 8th graders."GO, GO, GO!!!" Norah screeched, jumping on Murdoc's back. He almost choked- She had latched her arms around her neck. He shook her off, laughing hysterically. They were known as the goth kids. No one liked to be seen with them, but they didn't mind. They had each other, and it was enough. They looked over to the group of other kids made of of Aiden, Alyss, and Julie. How different they were. Inturreupting the quiet, Murdoc smiled suddenly and said, "Do I get a seat next to the band geeks at the next football game?"
"'Course. You always do," Anne answered.
"Awesome, thanks. It's the only reason I go," he said, stuffing his hands in his pocket.

FIRST PERIOD

Julie,Alyss and Aadi headed to their first period class.

Julie hugged Alyss before heading to Yearbook Comit. Once she got in their she went over to the other cheerleaders and started talking away about the summer.

Alyss went to math and Aadi to language. Alyss sat in ehr desk and too out a pen and paper getting ready to take notes if needed.

Aadi sat next to one of the other football players and they talked while they waited fro class to start

Norah went to science, zoning out the teacher completely.
"Miss Sultenfire?" Ms. Helms asked. She was the one teacher who used "Miss" or "Mister" before a last name.
"Hm? What?" Norah asked.
"Can you tell me what the closest layer of the atmosphere to the Earth is?"
"Huh? Oh, the troposphere. Right?" Norah asked.
"Correct. Pay attention," Helms said.
"But I got it right!" Norah liked to have the last word in everything.
"Yes. But next time you won't be so lucky. What is the origin of a river called?"
"Headwaters."
"What is a river to a stream?"
"Tributary," Norah sighed.
"Name the two types of plankton," Helms shot back.
"Zooplankton and phytoplankton."
"Define 'plankton'."
"Microscopic single-celled organisms that float mostly on the top of water, located near the bottom of the food chainm" Norah said, almost smiling now. Ms. Helms sighed and continued the lesson as Norah relaxed. She had won this round. Everyone gave her a dirty look, calling her a know-it-all.

Julie was bored so she wrote a pass and the teacher signed it. She saw Alyss and once she had her attention told ehr to come on and she wrote a pass and got out of class. They met up and saw Natilalie. Julie didn't like her and neither did Alyss but Julie had to put up with ehr because she was team captain and had to.

Natalie stared at them. "What?" She said this is a skanky tone.

"Dude! You totally dropped the F bomb right in front of Gumphery!" Anne hissed when she knew Gumphery wasn't listening.
"I know, I know. Anne, watch it!" He pulled her away from a hammer that someone had thrown. It was that bipolar kid that everyone hated, Percy Lonlie.
"WHY WON'T THIS WORK RIGHT!!!!???" he wailed. Anne sighed. That psycho.

Norah sat on her knees in her seat, still not paying attention. She soon zoned out until someone slid a peice of paper onto her desk.
"Hey know it all why dont u curl up and die? Your such a looser! -Tom," it read. She looked over at Tom, who was snickered.
"That was punctuated really badly. It should've said, 'Hey, know-it-all! Why don't you curl up and die? You're such a loser! -Tom' Learn to spell, dumbass," she wrote back.

Murdoc looked at Anne. "Hey. You're a girl," he muttered.
"Well spotted," she mumbled.
"You should join the dance team," he said, eyes wide with excitement.
"No."
"Aw, why not?!"
"Because cheerleaders and dancers are all sluts and whores," she mumbled.
"But you could be the one who stood out!" Murdoc shot back
"So could Norah," Anne pointed out. Norah. He loved just hearing her name.
"Norah stands out anyway," he said. 'What with her gorgeousness and all,' he thought.
"I don't?" Anne asked, tilting her head.
"You do, but she does so in a different way. She's always brimming with happiness and shizziting rainbows," Murdoc said.

Norah sighed as everyone wrote it down. She could just remember it. Technically, she was a genius. A child prodigy, really. She was a know-it-all, and she liked to have the last word in everything. She used her intelligence to her advantage, but she hated that everyone taunted her for it.
Then, she heard it. "Dance team". She could dance, and she liked to. In her room. When the door was locked and no one was looking. She was awkward to be around, though, and she didn't want to join and ruin the dance team for everyone.

Kyler sat in the band hall away from everyone else. He was kinda shy and didn't like being around the others except Teagan. He drew pictures and wrote poetry while Mrs.Flanders droned on. SH elooked over at Kyler and saw him writing "Kyler would you please share with the class what you are writing?"she had a msirk on her face that said this gonna be good. Kyler sighed and said "Do I have to?" she nodded. He got up and read from the page

he finished and then sat down. None in the band room said a thing for about a minute after that. Then some kids started laughing and he sighed before putting it away and going back to looking at his converse.

Julie looked at Alyss and pulled out a stack of flyers she showed Alyss one and she smiled and then started handing them to the few student in the hallway. They put some on the windows of the doors and in the bathroom and what not. Then hurried to class Alyss with the some adn Julie with the rest.

Teagan sat in Science reading as the teacher droned on and on and on.

Aadin sat there and thent he teacher said "YOu guys can whisper for the remaining ten minutes of class but if you get to loud I'll make you stop." Aadin started doodling on a piece of paper with the blocks on it.

Murdoc poked Anne's shoulder, taking her by easy surprise. She threw down her cutting utinsil, screamed, kicked him in the balls, and she put one long-fingered hand on her head. "AH! NO! STOOOOP!!" he whined, pushing her away.
"Oh. Murdoc. I'm sorry. I apologize for causing you pain," she said, helping to his feet.
"I-it's...ow," she squeaked.
"I like your birdhouse," she said with a phantom smile.
"Eh. Thanks. As always, you're taking forever with yours, Miss Star Pupil," he said, still hyperventilating.

"Alright, class. Why don't you read for the last few minutes?" Helms said, trying to look nice. Norah pulled out Order of the Phoenix. She had read it already, but she had her AR goal already, so she just read OotP for the second time that month. It was 870 pages, and one of her favorite books. She would read The Secret Life of Bees after that. As soon as she started reading, she her someone hissing at her.
"What?" she mouthed, looking at Tom.
"I just wanted to say that you're really retarded. I mean, at least I know why a pseudo it!" he whispered.
"Pseudo? It means fake, and and a pseudonym is when an author uses a fake name, like Dr. Suess. Dee-dee-dee," she sighed. She returned to her reading, ignoring the stares she was getting.

Teagan looked at the girl infront of her as Tom harassed her. She put her feet on the desk and accidently poked her in the butt. "Sorry"she said in her breezy voice before putting her feet down and put her reading away as she fixed her binder. It had her newest poem on it *I wroted a poem!* She fixed it and then adjusted everything in the slip.

Kyler put away his instrument. he played the Flute as he put it away some kid pushed him adn said "Nice poem Fagget"then turned adn laughed with his friends. Kyler gather his things and sat there writing.

Anne sighed and continued her work. She and Murdoc both both started to clean up in the lasr 3 minutes of class.

Tom curmpled up a piece of paper, and he threw it at Norah's head. Norah turned bright red, and she reached behind her, grabbed the poem book, and hurled it across the room. She pulled a glue stick out of her pocket and smushed it into Tom's pants. She smacked him, and the entire class froze. She bit her lower lip, and she sunk back into her chair. She whimpered, contemplating her actions, and she wss glad that the teacher had momentarily left the room. She placed the glue stick in his hand
"B*TCH!" he gasped.

Teagan saw Norah but before she could stop her she chunked the book. Teagan jumped out of her desk and over the seat ran after it. She grabbed it and looked at the black lace cover book with the hearts on it. The one whole heart was now broken in half and she walked silently back to her desk stopping at Norah and said "You broke my heart" then gathered her things as the bell rang. She dashed otu of the class and towards the band hall. Kyler was coming out and he saw his sister. Kyler gave her a sad look and Teagan was all disorented as she came up beside him "This girl threw my poem book and the heart broke" she said in her breezy sad voice. "It's okay"he said hugging her with one arm because he had to hold his books with the other. "I know it just mad me upset" she said "Well good luck with band the teacher is a bitch."he said "Most are" Teagan said and then she walked in the band room.

Kyler walked to Mr.Warren's Math class. He hated math but oh well. he would more than likely just write the whole period or some thing.

Julie walked to Food class after hugging Alyss and Aadibear.

Alyss and Aadin had the same class next so they walked together and sat down in the back across from each other.

Norah ran to Anne and hugged her, sobbing hysterically.
"A-A-ANNE! ANNIE, TOM WAS BEING SOOO MEAN TO ME! I SMASHED A GLUESTICK ON HIS PANTS, AND I THREW SOMEONE'S BOOK ACROSS THE ROOM, AND I FEEL REALLY BAD ABOUT IT!!" she wailed.
"Uh. Shush. Hush, Norrie. People are staring. We gotta go to the band hall. You know Flanders'll kill us if we're late. And if you're late, I'll be late. Please don't cry. You're getting my shirt wet," Anne sighed. Murdoc ran to them awkwardly.
"What happened? Why's Norah crying?" he asked.
"She feels bad because she threw someone's stuff," Anne explained as Norah cleaned her face.
"Why'd you do that?" Murdoc asked, wiping her face, then kissing her forehead in a friendly manner.
"Cuz Tom was being mean to me," she whimpered like a baby.
"What?! Again. I'll kick his mother frickin ass!" Murdoc said, hugging her. "Don't worry. Norrie."
"Please d-don't. You'll recieve the ass-kicking, rather than giving it," she said, still in the hug but not hugging him back. She sniffled.
"Aww! Look at Micheal, hugging his little girlfriend!" Tom jeered as he walked passed. "Faggot!"
"I'm not a faggot," Murdoc said, pulling away from her gently.
"What'd you say to me?" Tom asked, laughing mockingly.
"I'm not a faggot," she said a little more loudly.
"You prick!" Tom laughed, and she pushed Murdoc into a locker, winding him.
"Stop." It was Anne, who did not appreciate her friend being slammed into a locker. She checked the clock on the wall. 2 minutes. they were right outside the band hall, and the only lockers there were for the Clarinet's books and things.
"Make me, whore!" Tome laughed. He still had Murdoc at the locker, holding him there. Murdoc sighed. He could kill this guy, but he believed in fair fights, so he wouldn't.
"For that, you die," Norah said sweetly, bringing her fist into his face. She released Tom immeadiately, and she kicked Tom in the groin. "To hell with you!" she yelled, and she clamped a hand on Murdoc's shoulder as she left and entered the band room with Anne behind her. they had their trombones out just as the bell rang.
"Please practice the chromatic scale," Flanders said. She was all the low brass players' favorite teacher. She was the only one to them who didn't suck so much. She was just phoney and plastic.

Teagan saw Norah and kinda freaked alittle unknowingly pulled her book closer. She then started practicing her flute.

Aadin and Alyss sat side by side handing out invites to the people in their class.

OOC: You do realize that if you don't play in the same music family, you're not in the same room as the others, right? Flute and woodwind, and trombone is low brass. So they should be in different rooms unless they've got an upcoming concert.

"Please stop calling me 'Annie'," she sighed.
"Then don't call me Norrie," she whined.
"No can do," Anne sighed.
"Fine, Annika," Norah sighed with a slight sneer in her voice. She listened to Anne play for a moment. She was playing the melody for Jingle Bells, but it didn't sound right. "That was awful. It might help to put air in your horn. Press 'em together," she said, pressing her lips together. She blew air through her pressed lips, and a buzzing sound came out (Lizi and I are the only trombone kids who can't make that sound, but we're in first and second chair anyway.) Anne nodded, and she made a decent G on her horn.
"I'll play harmony, you play meldody," Norah said. She pressed the horn to her face, and then she counted them off with 4 taps. They played through the song, and the baritone playerss looked over at them. One whispered, "That's Norah Sultenfuss. She's supposed to be a genius!" Norah rolled her eyes.
"Sultenfire! And I'm not a genius. Lay off, you load o' sulfuric acid!" she hissed at them.

Flanders stepped onto the podium, and everyone scooted to the front of their chair, sat in set position, and stared at her. (That's what you do when the teacher stomps on the podium loudly. I only know the set position for baritone, saxaphone, tuba, and trombone, though.)
"Class, we've got a chair test today," Flanders said sweetly. "I know none of you pracitced over the summer--"
"I did!" Norah couldn't help but a explode out.
"That's nice, Miss Sultenfire. Well, that's good because I want you to open your book to page 3..."
Everyone did.
"Take a look at line 5, and we'll practice it 3 times. I'll give you extra credit if you can play the reveille and taps," Flanders said. Norah felt the mood in the air change. No one had practiced except for she and Anne, and she had had to force Anne. Anne was expressionless, though.
"Annika Hoffletire?" Anne looked up at Flanders.
"Hey," she said, nodding slightly.
"It's your turn," Flanders said in a slightly bored turn.
"Oh. Can I play taps after?" Anne asked.
"You may," Flander said, nodding. Anne played line 5 (titled Au Claire de la Lune. Oh, and from the extremely limited French I know, I think that means "Under the Moonlight" or something...)
So she did, and she made a 97 on it for breathing on bar lines. She knew she'd recieve 3rd chair.

The teacher nodded and Teagan started playing. She made a 98 and then grabbed ehr notebook and wrote something in it.

"Well, aren't you just Li'l Miss Sunshine today...Oh, is that Norrie?" Flanders giggled in her feminine Barbie doll voice.

"Yes, Norah, you may go. I expect you'd like to play both Taps and Reveille?" Flanders asked.
"Yes, please." Norah picked up her trombone and played perfectly, then playing Taps, then Reveille and messing up a bit. She had breathed on the Reveille bar lines most of the time, but made up for it because she could play Taps in only one position(Yes, it's possible and I know how. It's just hard, but it's to show what an annoying show-off she is.)
"Very nice, Norah. We've got a first chairsman," Flanders said, smiling.
"Thanks," Norah said excitedly. She turned to Anne.
"That was SUPA bad!" 'Anne said, grinning slightly.
"Thank you, ma'am," Norah laughed as Flanders picked someone in the baritone section who Norah and Anne both knew would kill the baritones with her sound.

"Why're we here?" Anne whined as she biked down the street with Norah and Murdoc.
"We'll be hated by all of mankind if we don't," Murdoc pointed out.
"Kazoos?" Norah said, making sure they each had their "Save the Music" kazoos.
"Got 'em," Murdoc and Anne answered. They got off their bikes on the sidewalk next to Julie's house.
"Why'd we bike here? You coudla walked," Anne sighed, clutching the gift in the bag she was holding. Julie was a girly cheerleader. She'd enjoy overpriced, excellent smelling, pretty bath soaps and whatnot.
"Here in England, we speak the QUEEN'S English!" Anne knocked the door, and she waited for someone to open it.
"Norah," Murdoc whispered, bending down a bit.
"Yeah?" Norah asked. Suddenly, and door opened, an Murdoc grabbed Norah's hand in shock. Anne turned around swiftly, and it startled both Norah and Murdoc. Murdoc stumbled back, pulling Norah with him to the ground. She was thrusted forward, sitting on his chest.
'Now or never,' Murdoc thought, and he pulled her to her feet, swept her around dramatically, and held he so that she was leaning back in his arms. He looked at her, and pushed his lips against hers dramatically.
"Mm. Mm-mm!" Norah grunted in defiance. She pulled away from him. "What was that, exactly?"
"Errr..." Murdoc looked in the doorwau to see...

Murdoc looked at Norah, sullen.
"Idiot," she laughed, punching him in he arm playfully. Anne watched them, almost enviously.
"Right," she said emotionlessly.
"Sorry," Murdoc apologized to NOrah.
"I- it's fine. Why'd you do it, though?" she asked.
"Cuz I think I might be in love with you," he answered.
"Uhhh...I have to go puke now. Bye," she said, pulling Anne with her.
"Where's your bathroom?" Anne asked Julie upon seeing her again.

Anne yanked Norah into the bathroom, and slammed the door.
"You're not really gonna puke, are you?" Anne groaned. Norah paced the bathroom.
"No, I just needed to think. I needed you with me," Norah panted in exasperation. "What do I do?!"

Murdoc drew a complicated picture of Astro Boy on his, and he put it in the bucket.(sounds like Mikey. XD) Astro had only taken him a moment, but it was pretty much a spitting image of Astro himself.

Julie nodded and reached her hand into the bucket. She pulled out a folded peice of paper and she opened it. Whens he saw the picture she knew it was and looked up.

Alyss said "Show us show us"

Julie turned the paper over and showed them.

Alyss said "Okay then Murdoc come on" she got upa nd so did Julie.

She put the paper on the table and waited for him.

Murdoc shrugged awkwardly, then stood up, towering over everyone.
"Eh, kay," he said as Norah and Anne walked in.
"What're you doing?" Anne asked.
"Seven minutes in heaven," Murdoc said.
Anne and Norah snorted, "Heaven. A stupid idea of Christians."
"D'ya wanna play?" Murdoc asked.
"No," Anne said, pushing a trembling Norah forward.
"I don't want to..." Norah whined to Anne. Murdoc gave her a look.
"Please?" he said sweetly.
"Kay," she giggled, blushing. Murdoc got up and went with Julie.
